If you are paying online, please verify the web address carefully and report suspicious activity to the Central Violations Bureau (CVB) at 800-827-2982 or info@cvb.uscourts.gov.
Proposed Federal Rules and Forms Amendments Published for Public Comment Through February 16, 2026
The Judicial Conference Committee on Rules of Practice and Procedure (Standing Committee) approved for publication and public comment proposed amendments to existing rules and forms, as well as one new rule as listed below:
• Appellate Rule 15;
• Bankruptcy Rule 2002, Official Forms 101 and 106C;
• Civil Rules 7.1, 26, 41, 45, and 81;
• Criminal Rule 17; and
• Evidence Rule 609 and new Rule 707.

NOTICE: Jury Duty Scam
The U.S. Marshals Service is warning the public of an ongoing jury-duty phone scam where the scammer poses as a U.S. Marshal, deputy marshal, or other law enforcement officer. The scammer calls the victim to advise that he or she has missed federal jury duty, but can avoid arrest by paying a fine immediately. The scammer in some instances has even used official warrant forms.

NOTICE: Multifactor Authentication for PACER Coming Soon
On May 11, the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts (AO) will begin implementing multifactor authentication (MFA) to enhance system security for CM/ECF and PACER. MFA provides an added layer of security to accounts by helping protect against cyberattacks that steal passwords, significantly reducing the risk of unauthorized access.
Once implemented, all CM/ECF and PACER users will be able to enroll in MFA. Users with CM/ECF access will be required to enroll in MFA, while users with PACER-only access will have the option to enroll.
Revised Administrative Procedures for Filing Electronic Documents
Please take note that the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana has recently updated its Administrative Procedures for Filing Electronic Documents. The most impactful change is an increase in the maximum file size for document uploads to CM/ECF and the Judicial Evidence Recording System (JERS). Before your next Middle District of Louisiana e-filing transaction, be sure to carefully review the revised Administrative Procedures.
