Chief Judge Shelly D. Dick presided over the May 1, 2023 Naturalization ceremony held on the front steps of the Russell B. Long Federal Courthouse, alongside Judge John W. deGravelles, Magistrate Judge Richard L. Bourgeois, Magistrate Judge Erin Wilder-Doomes, Magistrate Judge Scott D. Johnson, and Chief Bankruptcy Judge Michael A. Crawford. To commemorate Law Day, the U.S. Middle District Court invited students from Scotlandville Magnet Highschool to attend the Naturalization Ceremony and participate in an interactive student program entitled “Civil Discourse and the Constitution: Candid Conversations” facilitated by Magistrate Judge Erin Wilder-Doomes, along with attorneys from the U.S. Attorney’s Office and private practice.
