Jury Contact & General Information

Important: The Middle District of Louisiana is in the process of qualifying jurors for future jury service. If you receive a Postcard or Qualification Questionnaire in the mail, you are required by federal law to respond. See Jury FAQs for more information on the juror qualification process at the Middle District. The Court will NEVER ask for any payment information or your Social Security Number.

Jury Service

Jurors listen to testimony, review evidence, and render decisions in civil and criminal trials. Most U.S. citizens who are 18 or older may serve on a federal jury. The Jury Selection and Service Act (link is external) establishes the process for selecting jurors and provides requirements citizens must meet in order to qualify for serving on a federal jury.
